About Me

I am a selfPicture of me 4-professed “word-nerd” with a special fondness for Shakespeare’s Sonnets and a three crosswords a day habit… I read dictionaries for fun and fix every typo I find along the way (mostly silently because I want to keep my friends!). As a child, I loved grammatical analysis and parsing but I know that not everyone is as enthusiastic about grammar and language as I am and this is where I love to help!

I was born in France to an eclectic family and was surrounded by Spanish and Italian. When I was seven years old, we moved to Montreal and after attending private schools with a French classical curriculum, I was moved the local English High School when I was 13. I then returned to France for a couple of years and kept my English skills by translating my favourite rock and folks artists – Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull and Genesis to name a few.

In my early 20s, I fell in love with the West Coast of Canada and relocated to gorgeous British Columbia; this is where I became enamoured with the English language. This passion led me to pursue an English and Translation degree. I first worked on an English Major at the Thompson River University and in 2003, I graduated with honours from the Translation program at Concordia University after passing my Associate Certification Test with the STIBC (the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia) in 2001. I have been freelancing for many years and as you will see on my Services & Samples page, I have a varied experience.

I recently relocated to Edmonton to be close to my son where I reside with my cat Alfons. Fonzie detailWhen I am not indulging my word-nerdiness, I do digital art and pursue my other passion, herbology!
